One of the most popular fishing destinations in Oregon is a 21.5-mile channel known as the Multnomah Channel. A distributary of the Willamette River, this channel is a great place to catch spring Chinook salmon, walleye, shad, brown bullhead catfish, and other small game fish. The Chinook here average about 18 pounds but can grow up to 40 pounds. You can also catch sturgeon here, though they are mostly caught and released. For the best chance of catching something, try trolling bait and lures.
